Have you heard? Last year, hip-hop songs fell out of the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in 35 years. If you have your wits about you, this observation didn’t make you bat an eye. After all, hip-hop died and was reborn in 2025, and it was exactly what the genre needed. This recalibration gives us plenty to look forward to on our list of the 10 Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2026.

This year will see the grand return of A$AP Rocky, whose fourth studio album Don’t Be Dumb has been eight years in the making. Fellow blog-era rapper J. Cole will also be releasing his long-awaited album THE FALL-OFF, more than five years after it was initially announced. Another group who hasn’t dropped in a minute, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are making an epic comeback with their upcoming full-length, which is set to be the Cleveland group’s first project featuring all five original members since 2010.

Newcomers to the spotlight AZ Chike and Stove God Cooks are each looking to capitalize on their high-profile features with Kendrick Lamar (“Peekaboo”) and Clipse (“F.I.C.O.”), respectively. Doechii is expected to further address the misogynoir and industry-plant allegations that have been swirling around her on the follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2024 mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal.

Meanwhile, GloRilla has recently revealed that the follow-up to her debut album Glorious will arrive this year, and she plans to give it her all. Additionally, Freddie Gibbs and KAYTRANADA have teased a collaborative project that is sure to bring the dance and hip-hop worlds together. Experimental rap acts like Death Grips and Denzel Curry are also set to release new LPs, rounding out the breadth of hip-hop.

And these are just the albums that we know about; of course, we’ll be here to update you about surprise releases and projects coming later down the line. For now, take a deeper look into our 10 Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2026 below.
